This case follows the removal of an Adjustable gastric banding that was placed in 2009. The initial BMI the patient (aged 59) was 40, she was able to reduce her weight to BMI 27. 7 years after the implantation, she developed a severe gastroesophageal reflux that was treated medically, and the gastric band was completely deflated. There was some improvement of the reflux but not significatnly as observed in gastroscopy and imaging. No complications related to the band like erosion, slippage or else were present.
